Who could benefit from career assessment?

Career assessment is particularly helpful for:

  • Adolescents and young adults who need help making a career decision
  • Persons who are established in a career but feel dissatisfied and want to make a change
  • Persons who are planning to returning to the workforce and want to find their best option

How can a career assessment help me?

A career assessment is an excellent investment in your future, or the future of a family member.  A career is a twenty to forty year enterprise, involving up to 100,000 hours of your life!  Entering a career that fits your abilities and interests means that those hours will be spent in activities that you enjoy, that you’re more likely to be successful at, and that you’ll earn more money.  The amount of money invested in a career assessment could return benefits thousands of times over.

What does a career assessment measure?

The elements of an assessment and the particular tests used can vary depending on your background, age, and goals.  However, an assessment typically measures:

  • Abilities, including special skills and your general capacity for further education
  • Career interests
  • Career-related personality characteristics
  • Any problems that might interfere with work success
