Fair Winds really started as far back as 2003 with a single idea of providing care for our patients beyond the typified image of a therapist. Formerly under the name of Feltrup-Exum & Associates, we rebranded to simplify our name and create an image. Forever passionate about the sea we sought to encapsulate the passage said amongst sailors "Fair Winds and Following Seas" which is a gesture of good luck emboldened by courage.  Patricia Feltrup-Exum opened the doors in Fort Worth, Texas in 2003 treating a broad range of mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders. Our practice has grown since that time to include both Patricia and Bruce Feltrup-Exum, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, as well as several other licensed associates. We work closely with neighboring universities to assist students learning the ropes of operating a private mental health practice. Several of those students have worked with us until venturing out on their own. Our providers have worked in critical incident situations during 9/11, offered care during times of crisis at local companies, renormed portions of the DSM to drive the field of mental health forward, and taught at universities and lectures offering insight and experience to others. We have seen the world change and the troubles that come along with those changes and while they might be difficult to overcome we are steadfast in our promise to impart wisdom and challenge our thought processes that lead us to self discovery. We are your neighbors and we are here to help.

All of our psychotherapists are independently licensed and insured and hold specializations in a variety of areas that can facilitate healing and emotional recovery. Each one has certifications in areas of mental health research, diagnostic assessments or testing, and ancillary utilities for care.

At Fair Winds Assessment and Counseling Center you can rest assured that you will receive quality care and treatment. We offer a full spectrum of assessments, diagnostics, and treatment options all within our practice. Be assured that you will receive professional advice, direction, and guidance in your search for help with certainty for healing and hope. The first step toward healing is to call us to schedule the date and time for your initial assessment and evaluation. For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Care Credit, debit, checks, and cash for services rendered. If additional charges for diagnostic testing or assessments are needed we will discuss this with you and the charges during your treatment.
